Photos of my girl

Here are some pictures of my girl.  She's a delight!

Maybe Daddy likes to tease her a little...

First bathtub bath was not our favorite day.

Happy Uruguay Independence Day!

Thank You

A friend of mine called today to chat for just a minute.  Part way through the conversation I asked about her dad who is dealing with cancer now.  His cancer had been under control for a time, but it has now started growing again, and they are back in the terrible game of looking at new treatment options again, hoping that something will be effective to buy him a bit more time with his family.  She mentioned talking with a girl in her stake who's father-in-law was recently diagnosed with the same rare type of cancer, but was then miraculously cured completely.  Though my friend felt happy for that girl's family, she admitted that she couldn't help but think it seems unfair that her own dad is not miraculously cured.  I know how she feels.  I was in the middle of thinking of all of the "unfair" challenges from my own life right now, including losing my own dad to cancer, my difficult baby delivery, and the crazy financial challenges that my family is suddenly facing, when she said--for the benefit of us both--"but that's how life is and there's really SO much to be grateful for.  That's what we need to focus on instead."  She's so right.  So here's a bit of gratitude I wanted to share:

I thank the Lord for this girl, her good health, her daddy, his job and mine, our home, our bigger family, our friends, the Gospel and Atonement of Jesus Christ, and so much more.  Even with all the difficult parts, life is really not so bad right now, is it?
