Let me count the ways... #2

The first time I met Diego was at a dance. Since we were trying to have a conversation at the same time as we danced together, we danced pretty normally to some song I don't remember. Before he had a car, he would dance in the passenger seat to the radio while we drove.

He took me dancing at a birthday party for one of his latin friends once. He took me dancing at a BYU dance once. Sometimes he dances in the car when he is driving. It was pretty necessary that we had a dance at our wedding, which was a blast for me!

He has taken a dance class or so, but doesn't really use the steps he learned in class. He just moves a lot with the music, and it's perfect and so much fun. I love that he's always dancing!

Let me count the ways... #1

I love Diego because of his charity toward people he doesn't even know. This last February, while I was living in San Antonio, Diego flew down to visit me. We went out one evening to see some sites downtown and had a lot of fun walking around the busy city streets around midnight. As we finished our walking tour, this big middle-aged homeless black man came up to us--slightly drunk--asking for money. Diego answered that we didn't have any cash or change for him, but that we could buy him some dinner if he was hungry. He thought that was a good enough deal. The three of us crossed the street to the McDonalds on the adjacent corner, and Diego made sure that he was always standing between me and the stranger, and Diego bought the guy two burgers and a dessert, and then we left while he ate up. I told Diego that it was really nice of him to do that, and he just said, "My mom taught me to do that." I love him (and his mom) for that answer, too.
